As a safe rule of thumb, pack your rain gear, a water-proof tent and some warm clothes for a night out on the camp in Haleakala. Temperatures can drop drastically at night and at higher altitudes remain somewhere between 40-60 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. Get permits for the wilderness campsites at Park Headquarters.
